■ About Hatcho-no-Yu, Okukinu Onsenkyo
Hatcho-no-Yu is a secluded mountain ryokan built on the concept of a “hidden hot spring resort.” We offer a variety of stay styles so guests can enjoy their time here in a way that suits them best.

Located within Nikko National Park, the lodge is inaccessible by private vehicle. A free shuttle bus is available from the final stop of the Nikko City Bus: “Meotobuchi Free Parking Lot.” Advance reservation is required for shuttle use.

Alternatively, adventurous guests may hike in along the scenic trail (approx. 90 minutes on foot). If coming by car, please park at the Meotobuchi Free Parking Lot. Though access is limited, we promise a truly rewarding stay with natural hot springs and serene surroundings.

■ About the Hot Springs
All of our hot springs are 100% natural and free-flowing directly from the source, without any added heat. Eight natural spring sources emerge from the surrounding mountainside, delivering approximately 220 liters per minute.

Guests can enjoy four open-air baths surrounded by nature—three mixed-gender baths and one female-only bath—offering unique seasonal views.
・Shakunage-no-Yu: Beside a waterfall
・Yukimi-no-Yu: Closest to the spring source, with warmer water
・Takimi-no-Yu: Tranquil view of the falls
Indoor baths are available separately for men and women. The hot spring is a neutral, mildly hypotonic high-temperature spring, gentle on the body with minimal irritation.

Sample menu (subject to seasonal and ingredient availability)

Sashimi: Duck shabu-shabu style

Grilled dish: Salt-grilled iwana (river fish)

Stewed dish: Seasonal vegetables

Tempura: Carp, shiitake mushrooms, rapeseed blossoms, eggplant

Main: Ezo venison steak

Rice: Tochigi-grown Koshihikari rice, miso soup, pickles

Dessert: Forest Farm vanilla ice cream

Dining Location:
Both dinner and optional breakfast are served at our restaurant “Kuchisokutei.”

■ Important Notes

Snow is expected from December through April. Please equip your vehicle with snow tires or chains when driving to Meotobuchi.

Hiking from Meotobuchi requires proper gear and experience for mountain trekking. Please be fully prepared.

■ Shuttle Bus Information
As private vehicles are prohibited beyond Meotobuchi, access is only via hiking or our shuttle bus.

Morning buses are not available the day after our closed days. See our closure calendar.
