By popular request — a breakfast and dinner plan featuring Fujiya's jigoku-steaming
full-course dinner is finally here!
Kannawa, where natural steam rises from the ground, is known as the sacred land of steam.
In this plan, Fujiya — which has spent many years perfecting steam cooking here — serves you both breakfast and dinner.
Ingredients are first washed in 50°C water, then cooked using a combination of jigoku-steaming1 and low-temperature steaming to bring out their full umami.
Please enjoy simple yet bold, authentic steam cuisine that you can only taste at Fujiya.
This plan includes the following breakfast and dinner.
🔸Breakfast
Fermented Steam Cuisine Breakfast
・Morning smoothie
・Jigoku-mushi vegetables steamed in a bamboo basket
・Freshly caught dried fish from the sea of Saiki (jigoku-mushi & seared)
・6-hour steamed egg
・Miso soup made with 6-hour jigoku-steaming soybeans
・Rice cooked in a clay pot and finished in a bamboo steamer
*For consecutive nights, a Western-style breakfast is served on the following morning.
🔹Dinner

・Appetizer of jigoku-steaming vegetables
・Steamed seafood
・Steamed shabu-shabu of Oita Wagyu beef

・Seasonal steamed tempura
・Seasonal rice dish
・Coffee or tea
*Ingredients and dishes vary by season.

From the rooftop facing Beppu Bay, enjoy spectacular views of rising hot-spring steam, Beppu Bay and Mt. Takasaki.
The rooftop is covered with IFMIC-treated "eco-turf," developed with hot-spring therapy in mind — simply lying on the soft grass is said to promote blood circulation, much like bathing in a hot spring.
◆Kamiku Lounge◆
・A tea lounge that preserves the atmosphere of the former Fujiya Ryokan, built in 1899 (Meiji 32).
Spend tea time or bar time admiring the beautiful earthen walls made by master plasterer Susumu Harada of Hita, using "Kamiku" clay.
◆Facilities◆
・Free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
・Guests can use the accommodation wing, a wooden building constructed with the latest CLT (cross-laminated timber) method, and the "Meiji Main House," a registered cultural property built in 1899.
・Throughout the year, the main building hosts concerts in the music hall, workshops on making jigoku-mushi soybean miso, Pilates and more.
