Japanese-Style Economy Room with City View

There are four rooms of this type per floor and they all face the Miyagawa River, which runs across Takayama and is best known for its breath-taking clarity and purity.

 

These Japanese-style rooms provide the finest, most authentic atmosphere.

 

The maximum occupancy is two adult guests.

The room size is 20 square meters.

At night, the low tables are removed and traditional futons, a Japanese-style bedding, are laid in their places, allowing the guests to experience Japanese tradition as they rest for the night.

The basic plan is half board, meaning your stay comes with both dinner and breakfast. More than anything else it is half board plan that makes ryokan a truly traditional Japanese inn.

If you would like to stay with us more than one night, our chef will make certain that there will be variations to your meals or you may be inclined to upgrade your dinner for extra fees to our Hida Beef specialties instead (2-day advance notice required).

Stay with us to find out for yourselves the difference between the western-style hotel and the Japanese-style ryokan. 

 

(1) Regular yukatas (casual kimonos) are provided for free in your room. The designs of the yukatas are different between men and women. If you fail to advise us with the gender breakdown of your party in advance, we will be equipping your room with all men's yukatas.

 

(2) More colorful version of the yukatas are available for both men and women with additional charge JPY1,100 per person.

 

Forget Kobe beef! Come to Honjinhiranoya Bekkan and get a taste of Hida beef instead! Hida beef comes from black-haired cattle in Gifu Prefecture where Takayama is located. The cattle is raised to produce beef of the topmost quality, meeting stringent industry standards for marbling, color and texture. To maintain the quality of beef as high and as fresh as possible our chef only orders what is only needed for the day from the local butchers that specializes in Hida beef.

 

(1) To vegetarians or vegans who cannot eat beef, while the replacement of Hida beef will be up to our chef to decide, we can accommodate your dietary and/or religious restrictions on not eating meat, seafood, eggs, dairy products, and etc. as long as we are forewarned from you at least one day in advance.

(2) Please be noted that the latest starting time for dinner is 19:00. If you arrive later than 19:00, you will be forfeiting your dinner without a discount. 

(3) Dinner and breakfast both will be served in the private dining room where is our restaurant at the second floor.

(4) Your breakfast, a set meal and not a buffet, will be served between 07:00 and 08:00. You may choose your favorite breakfast style, Japanese-style or Western-style, during check in.
