On May 1, 2024, the new Kayu was reborn.
We will continue to offer the relaxing atmosphere of Aso Yamakawa Onsen and our proud free-flowing hot springs, and offer new hospitality. Please enjoy this private space to your heart's content.

-----About the Baths-----
We offer a Japanese breakfast featuring seasonal vegetables from the mountains and seas throughout the year.
Kayu has two private open-air baths.
The source temperature is 50°C, and the temperature is regulated by the amount of water; no water is added.
In addition, there are two private open-air baths, one indoor and one outdoor.
Relax in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

<Open-Air Bath>
Enjoy panoramic views of the gushing mountains during the day, and soak under a starry sky at night.
<Indoor Bath>
The bath is made from cut stone, allowing you to directly enter the open-air bath.

Water Quality: Calcium-sodium sulfate spring (hypotonic, neutral, high temperature)
Source Temperature: 50°C

<Guidelines>
As the bath is available for private use 24 hours a day, you can bathe at any time you like.

-----Meals (Dinner)----

For dinner, please choose from the options below.

<Shabu-Shabu>
We use carefully selected "Wao," the highest quality Japanese Black Beef from Kumamoto Prefecture.
Kumamoto's Wagyu beef, "Wao," is lovingly raised in a natural environment blessed with pure water and clean air, taking advantage of Kumamoto's geography.
This carefully prepared beef has a soft texture and a mellow aroma.
The accompanying vegetables are sourced from local greengrocers, as well as from all over Kyushu.
When enjoying shabu-shabu, enjoy it with two types of sauce: our special sesame sauce and ponzu sauce.

<Sukiyaki>
This premium Wagyu beef, tossed in the chef's secret broth, is exquisitely tender and brings out the natural sweetness of the meat, creating a truly delicious sukiyaki.
Enjoy the fatty marbled Wagyu beef together with flavorful vegetables, and finish off with udon noodles to fully savor the flavors of the ingredients until the very end.

<Soft-shelled Turtle>

Soft-shelled turtles from Anshinin (Oita Prefecture), raised in the beautiful, clear streams and warm climate, are said to have been a favorite of author Seicho Matsumoto.
Soft-shelled turtles are rich in collagen, which is excellent for skin-beautifying properties. They also have excellent energy-boosting and strengthening properties, helping to recover from the fatigue of a busy work day.
We have added this new menu item to our menu, hoping that the effects of the hot springs and food will restore both body and mind.
Our soft-shelled turtle full course features two soft-shelled turtles from Anshinin (Oita Prefecture). As the name suggests, you will enjoy soft-shelled turtles in everything from appetizers to simmered dishes and fried chicken.
To finish off your soft-shelled turtle meal, enjoy a rice porridge in a hot pot infused with luxurious soft-shelled turtle extract.

To eliminate the turtle's distinctive odor, the ingredients are procured one week in advance, and our chef meticulously prepares them.

We offer the finest soft-shelled turtle. If you're a soft-shelled turtle lover, we highly recommend giving it a try.
