A calm and relaxing guest room with a natural and comfortable space based on "white," where high-quality works by leading contemporary artists and craftspeople blend softly.
The largest villa, complete with a courtyard garden and tatami living room, and private rental with an open-air bath and terrace.
The guest room design and art curation are overseen by Koichi Uchida, a ceramic artist and sculptor who has traveled the world and possesses a deep understanding of beauty, from crafts to antiques and contemporary art.
The theme is "adult" and "authenticity."
The villa's design, based on a black color scheme that harmonizes with the adjacent ESHIKOTO, and featuring abundant use of Shakudani stone from Fukui Prefecture, evokes a sense of calm and tranquility.
The guest rooms are divided into three types of villas, each with a different concept, offering a total of eight rooms.
From antique art representing Fukui, such as Echizen ware and Echizen lacquerware, to works by modern and contemporary artists, and folk art from around the world, high-quality art from all times and places blends together, allowing you to fully enjoy the world of "mitate," which is at the core of the Japanese aesthetic.
All rooms are equipped with a semi-open-air bath and a spacious terrace. We promise you a comfortable stay.
Please contact us if you would like dinner.
■Breakfast
Breakfast is served at Apéro & Pétisserie acoya, located within ESHIKOTO, a facility adjacent to Kanshukuen ESHIKOTO that promotes the culture of the Hokuriku region, centered around Fukui, with alcohol as its core.
The breakfast features Fukui-grown Koshihikari rice cooked in an earthenware pot, while French influences shine through in every detail.
In the morning, as you wake up, take a deep breath of the fresh air of Eiheiji Temple and come to acoya to enjoy the food and the scenery before you. "Harmonize your body," "Harmonize your breath," and "Harmonize your mind." acoya's breakfast, which uses plenty of local Fukui ingredients, and the wonderful scenery will harmonize your mind and body.
■Bar Toki
"GIORNO," a fruit-specialized cocktail bar from Fukui that has become a hot topic for using seasonal fruits sourced from producers all over the country, attracts many fans from all over Japan.
"Bar Toki" is run by its owner bartender, Shota Yasukawa.
The lineup mainly consists of spirits such as domestic craft whiskey and domestic craft gin, as well as fruit cocktails and sake.
The space, which cannot be seen from the white-walled exterior, is surrounded by glass on three sides and is situated above a water basin.
You can enjoy an extraordinary moment, sipping your drink in the illusion of floating on water.
■【Kanshukuen ESHIKOTO】
Kanshukuen, meaning "to rejoice in a once-in-a-lifetime encounter," is a place where food and drink connect people and create something new.
At the foot of Mt. Jōhōji, rich in nature, which is adorned with vibrant cherry blossoms in spring and beautiful winter scenery in winter, you can reset your mind and body from the inside out while overlooking the Kuzuryū River.
And you can immerse yourself in the joy of experiencing a side of Japan you didn't know before, by experiencing Zen culture and traditional Echizen crafts. A place where food and sake connect people, and from there, something new is born. That is Auberge "Kanshukuen ESHIKOTO".
