A dramatic and artistic guest room that makes you feel the pulse of the world, with masterpieces of "primitive art" that greatly influenced masters such as Picasso, Miró, and Klee placed throughout.
A private villa with an open-air bath and terrace, located on the mountainside and featuring a tatami room.
The guest room is supervised and the art curation is handled by Koichi Uchida, a ceramic artist and sculptor who has traveled the world and knows beauty inside and out, from crafts to antiques and contemporary art.
The theme is "adult" and "authenticity."
The villa's design, based on a black color scheme that harmonizes with the adjacent ESHIKOTO, and featuring abundant use of Shakudani stone from Fukui Prefecture, evokes a sense of calm and tranquility.
The guest rooms are divided into three types of villas, each with a different concept, offering a total of eight rooms.
From antique art representing Fukui, such as Echizen ware and Echizen lacquerware, to works by modern and contemporary artists, and folk art from around the world, high-quality art from all times and places blends together, allowing you to fully enjoy the world of "mitate," which is at the core of the Japanese aesthetic.
All rooms are equipped with a semi-open-air bath and a spacious terrace. We promise you a comfortable stay.
■Zen Retreat Plan
〈Kanshukuen〉 is located at the foot of the head temple Eiheiji. At ESHIKOTO, the "Zen Retreat Plan" allows you to quietly connect with the spirit of Zen through a Zen meditation experience in your room, a vegetarian meal exclusive to this plan, and a morning service experience at Eiheiji Temple. The plan combines a moment of being present in the dignified atmosphere of the temple where monks spend their days with a peaceful stay, allowing you to harmonize your mind and body both internally and externally. For dinner, enjoy a vegetarian course meal featuring the bounty of the Hokuriku region at Japanese restaurant En, and for breakfast after the morning service, we will prepare porridge at Apéro & Pétisserie Acoya. Spend a moment of tranquility, allowing your mind and body to slowly come into balance.

【Kanshukuen ESHIKOTO】
A place where you can enjoy a unique experience of "sake, food, and space" that can only be found here, connecting "everyone and good fortune," and creating a luxurious time.
At the foot of Mt. Jōhōji, rich in nature, which is adorned with gorgeous cherry blossoms in spring and beautiful scenery in winter, you can reset your mind and body from the inside out while overlooking the Kuzuryū River.
And you can immerse yourself in the joy of experiencing a side of Japan you never knew existed, by experiencing Zen culture and traditional Echizen crafts. A place where "sake, food, and space" that can only be enjoyed here connects "everyone and Fuku" and creates luxurious moments. That is Auberge "Kanshuku En ESHIKOTO".
■Guest rooms with semi-open-air hot spring baths
All rooms are equipped with semi-open-air baths where you can enjoy hot springs. By opening and closing the doors and slits, you can freely balance a sense of openness and privacy.
