Former Yoshimoto Residence
This renovated house retains the distinctive, elongated shape of the original building while featuring a newly redesigned interior layout.
Located right along the river, the house offers a peaceful setting where you can listen to the soothing sound of flowing water while enjoying the lush greenery of the hills across the river through the large windows.
A raised tatami area leads to an elevated engawa veranda with a counter, providing a relaxing spot to sit back and enjoy the view of the river.
The original irregular-shaped dining table and chairs are crafted from black cherry wood. Nordic-style pendant lighting adds a warm, modern touch, while a wood-burning stove welcomes you in the traditional entrance doma.
In addition to a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, the house features a private natural hot spring, sauna, cold plunge bath, and outdoor relaxation space.
The bathtub is made from Koya-maki (Japanese umbrella pine), a traditional wood prized for its beautiful aroma and water resistance.

Surrounded by the warmth of natural wood, each house offers a peaceful and relaxing space, complete with a Kirishima natural hot spring bath featuring a Koya-maki-style bathtub, as well as a sauna and cold plunge bath.

At the center of the four houses is a shared space featuring a traditional cooking area.
For an additional fee, you can enjoy freshly cooked rice prepared in a traditional Hagama rice pot, as well as Somen Nagashi, a popular Kagoshima-style flowing noodle experience.
