A minute's walk west from Kinoe's gate will take you to the stone-paved Hanamikoji Street in Gion. How about taking an early morning walk before breakfast?


I recommend an early morning stroll before breakfast, as it is a particularly refreshing time of day.

We recommend a zazen experience at Ryosokuin Temple in Gion, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Duration: 90 minutes: preparatory exercises, explanation of zazen, zazen, Dharma talk

The spacious two-bedroom room offers a view of the garden and the stone pavilion "Gozan" (Five Mountains).

The bath in the guest room is also made of hinoki cypress and granite.

The baths in the guest rooms are also made of Japanese cypress and granite.

Although you cannot expect a view since you are in the city, a one-minute walk west from the gate of Kinoie is the stone-paved Hanamikoji Street, where you can enjoy the Kyoto atmosphere.

This is the best spot to enjoy the Kyoto atmosphere.

Kodaiji Temple is about 8 minutes on foot
Kiyomizu Temple is about 15 minutes on foot
