【About Arima Geiko】
It all started with the Yuna (literally, “bathhouse women”).
This geiko culture in Arima Onsen, Japan's oldest hot spring, is the only one of its kind left in Hyogo Prefecture Geikos were born as yunas, and passed down many traditional arts such as dancing, nagauta, kouta, and hayashi, making history even today.
【About 立礼(Ryu-rei)】
In the tea ceremony, this refers to a style in which matcha is prepared while seated on a chair.
In this style, guests also sit on chairs and enjoy tea served on a table.
It allows those who have difficulty sitting in the traditional seiza position, as well as international guests, to comfortably experience a tea gathering.
