Rooms — each with its own open-air bath
Every room on this plan has an open-air bath of clear radon spring water, with a window wall that opens onto the mountain side — bathe whenever you like. Each room has a ReFa hair dryer and shower head.
Taisho Roman (Room 801)
Renovated in April 2026, on the top floor (8th). Herringbone floors, stained glass, and a burgundy carpet on the hiroen veranda. 12 tatami plus a bedroom with two Simmons beds. Approx. 58 m² / 2–6 guests.
Corner room (Room 701)
A quiet corner room: 12 tatami, a bedroom with two beds, and a hiroen veranda looking onto Mt. Ochibayama. Shigaraki ware tub. Approx. 58 m² / 2–6 guests.

12 tatami and a hiroen veranda facing Mt. Ochibayama, with a Shigaraki ware tub. You sleep on futon bedding laid out on the tatami. Approx. 41 m² in total (tatami area approx. 20 m²) / 2–5 guests.
※ In 801 and 701, futon bedding is laid out in the tatami room for a third guest and more.
※ The water in your room is clear and colourless; the reddish-brown “gold spring” (kinsen) is in the large baths.FIVE BATHS
Five baths — from your room to a private bath
Korokan is one of the few inns in Arima with a hot spring source on its own grounds.
1. The open-air bath in your room
2. Kinpa-no-yu and Ginpa-no-yu — Korokan’s large baths, with indoor and open-air baths and saunas, facing Mt. Ochibayama. The open-air baths have the “gold spring” from our own source.
3. Ofuku-no-yu and Tamahoko-no-yu — open-air baths at our sister inn Yugetsusanso, along the Takigawa, the river that runs through our grounds. Cross Gekkobashi, the bridge, and walk through Yugetsusanso.
4. Tsuru-no-yu and Kame-no-yu — the indoor large baths of Yugetsusanso, a wooden sukiya-style building.
5. A private bath — included in this planThe private bath — one 40-minute session free
Normally charged. Choose from:
Hinoki (1–8 guests) — all hinoki cypress, with a step-free entrance
Cave (up to 5) — surrounded by rock
Wine (up to 8) — sandstone, with a wine-scented bath additiveWhen you book, please tell us your preferred bath and start time, with a second choice.
Start times: 15:30 / 16:30 / 17:30 / 18:30 / 20:30 / 22:30※ First come, first served, so we may not be able to give you your first choice. If we have not heard from you, we will ask at check-in; on some days every time may be taken.

Dining — in your room
Dinner: a Kyoto-style kaiseki — seafood from the Seto Inland Sea and mountain produce from Tanba, lightly seasoned. Kaiseki is a sequence of small seasonal dishes, served one after another.
Breakfast: a Japanese set breakfast — simmered tofu, salmon and rolled omelette.
Both are brought to the low table in your room.STAY
Your stay, and getting here
The large baths are communal and taken without swimwear, separately for men and women; please wash at the taps before getting in. Check-out is at 12:00. All rooms are non-smoking; smoking areas are provided in the building.
We run a minibus from Arima-Onsen Station and the bus stops in Arima. Once in Arima, please call 078-903-5503 (8:00–19:00) and we will come for you.

Taisho Roman — Japanese-Western Room with Open-Air Bath (Room 801)
Renovated in April 2026. On the top floor of Korokan, a room that draws on the Taisho era, when Japanese and Western design first came together. Amber herringbone flooring, stained glass in the ranma transom and in the bedroom, and a burgundy carpet along the hiroen veranda.
The bedroom has two Simmons semi-double beds. From the tatami room and the veranda, Arima and its seasons open up in front of you.
The room has its own open-air bath. A window wall opens onto the mountain side, and the water is a clear radon spring. Please note that this is a different spring from the public baths: Kinpa-no-yu and Ginpa-no-yu are filled with the reddish-brown “gold spring” (kinsen) from our own source on the grounds.
