Masuichi House is now open!

In April 2026, two new locations were born within the neighborhood of the Obusedo and Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery group: the Japanese sweets café "Sanadatei" and the western-style chestnut confectionery shop "naka".
Renovated from existing buildings, these spaces combine modern comfort with the depth of history.
While each shop makes, sells, and serves our chestnut confections, we have made the second floors of these buildings into guest rooms.

They are "Masuichi House Sanadatei" and "Masuichi House naka."

Designed for extended comfort, these spaces are fully equipped with kitchens and home appliances to welcome you for long-term stays.
Just as Masuichi’s brewers stay on the second floor of the sake brewery during the brewing season, you will stay right above where our chestnut confections are crafted.
We hope you will feel close to the history, daily life, and work of Obusedo and Masuichi Ichimura Sake Brewery.

Rates are significantly discounted starting from the second night, set at less than half the price of the first night to offer exceptional value for multi-night stays.

At one time when visitors came from afar they were entertained in the tatami-floored kyakuden or "guest hall" of the Masuichi estate. When a visitor came to Obuse way out to the country it felt like a small festival not just to the master but the entire household and servants as well. That was the perfect opportunity for intellectual stimulation and a place where all sorts of valuable information could be gathered.

The Masuichi Kyakuden was born from a desire to once again realize a place for exchange and fraternization in Obuse restoring history in a modern framework. All of its services are based on the feeling that guests should be entertained at our own homes. Enjoy the sights of Obuse and the chestnut orchards as if it was your own backyard. 

 

 

Our standard plan includes dinner and breakfast at the following restaurants:

About dinner

○The menu is Japanese course including about 8 dishes (we don’t have a la carte dishes).  11,000 yen / person.

○We have dinner for children under the age of 10 which is almost same menu for adult one: we pick up some dishes in adult course and dish up a little bit of them. 3,300 yen / person.

○Children are also welcome to share adults meals.

 

About Breakfast

 ○We don’t have kids’ breakfast. It means, it will be the same menu as adult one. 3,630 yen / person.

○Please note that we prepare breakfast for all people over 6-year-old.
