This room is located in a modern Japanese-style townhouse hotel in Kaikoji-cho, a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station.
21m², double room with one double bed.
Accommodates up to three guests; a futon will be provided for those guests.
Each room is equipped with a toilet, sink, and bathtub.
Shared facilities include a smoking room, coin laundry, ice maker, microwave, and water server.
The name Kaikoji-cho comes from the fact that Kaikoji Temple was once located here.
Today, the area is popular with families and is home to Umekoji Park, Kyoto Aquarium, and Kyoto Railway Museum. However, the area has a rich history, dating back to the mid-Kamakura period when Kaikoji Temple was founded. After its destruction during the Onin War, it underwent several relocations before becoming a sub-temple of Sennyu-ji Temple.
The interior design of this property is based on this history, with the front desk featuring tiles reminiscent of stone walls and armor, evoking an era of war.
The guest rooms represent the present, which has become more peaceful through the passage of time, and feature a calming yellow, one of the five colors of Buddhism, as a base, with two-tone wood grain, tatami flooring, and Simmons beds, expressing relaxation and enjoyment.
Enjoy a relaxing stay in Kyoto in a space that blends nostalgia with modernity.
