A 200-year old farmhouse, large garden, vegetable garden, ample parking, 3 bedrooms (Japanese style), dining area, kitchen, 2 cypress baths, 2 bathrooms
Site area: 1.8 hectares (including farmland and forest)
■Bedroom■3 Japanese-style rooms (divided by sliding doors.)
*For KAYA, you will sleep on traditional Japanese mattresses ('Futon' mattresses placed on the floor.)
*Basically, linen will not be changed for consecutive nights.
*If you wish, we will charge 1500 yen per person.

Rice cooked in a traditional ‘kamado’ fire-burning stove, and mochi rice cakes and skewered food over a ‘irori’ indoor heath are also included.
Day 2: Freshly baked bread, homemade jam and coffee are served for breakfast.

◾️Special Japanese Experiences:
1.Kamado Experience: cooking rice in a traditional Japanese way using a wood-burning stove. Please enjoy ‘onigiri’ or rice balls made of freshly cooked rice, ‘nori’ dried seaweed and miso.
2. Irori (hearth) Experience: Enjoy toasting ‘mochi’ rice cakes and skewered food over charcoal fire.
*Smoke-producing foods such as meat cannot be grilled over the indoor ‘irori’ heath..
3. Bonfire Experience: Enjoy the moonlight and starry night sky of the nostalgic countryside while warming yourself by the fire outdoors.
*Foods and ingredients are included in the room charge.
*You can experience 1 and 2 after you check-in. 3 can be experienced once during your stay at any time.

MARUGAYATSU offers tranquility in beautiful countryside surroundings.A BBQ dinner set is provided on the first day, including fresh seafood、meat and locally produced vegetables. (If you would like to know more about the ingredients, please check our website.)
You can also experience cooking rice in the ‘kamado’ traditional Japanese wood-burning stove, and toasting mochi rice cakes and skewered food over the ‘irori’ indoor heath.
Our accommodation is located in the historic castle town of Otaki, where a number of old buildings are preserved.
We hope you enjoy your lunch and dinner at a long-standing local restaurant serving traditional Japanese dishes.

The best restaurants in town include: Arika for pork cutlets, Kuraya for ‘soba’ Japanese buckwheat noodles, Otakiya for various meal sets, Nagomi for light meals and ‘mochi’ rice cakes.
・14:00- Stroll around the castle town (Museums, Tsuchiya Japanese confectionery shop, etc.)
・17:00- Dinner in the castle town (Mizuki for sushi, Nakanoshima for various Japanese dishes, Fukudaya for ‘soba’ buckwheat noodles, Roven for Western cuisine)
・21:00- Relax at MARUGAYATSU.
