From a historical perspective of Japanese architecture, the value of techniques and building materials is scattered throughout the rooms.

As the area is adjacent to Nara Park, historical buildings as well as new and established stores are within walking distance.

Just 10 seconds from the entrance is Ichino-torii, the main entrance to Kasuga Taisha Shrine, which is one of the three largest wooden torii gates in Japan.

Although the park is famous nationwide for its deer, there is a rich natural environment around the pond and the long approach to the shrine.

If you go for an early morning walk, you may feel like you have the place to yourself as there are many uninhabited areas.

Please make use of the large communal bath after returning to the building.

Yamatoji Kaiseki (Japanese multi-course cuisine) using seasonal Nara ingredients. The concept is based on tea ceremony kaiseki, and we use Akahada-yaki pottery from Nara, one of the Seven Enshu Kilns, to create a menu that goes well with alcohol. We aim for local production and consumption, so please enjoy fresh seasonal ingredients from Nara. We asked the nuns of Chuguji Temple to imagine the kind of room they would like to stay in, and we created that room.

It has a feminine, streamlined shape and painted alcove pillars.

As it faces Kasuga Taisha Shrine Gardens, you might even spot a deer when you open the shoji screens in the morning.

Dinner and breakfast are both served in the restaurant.
