The name of this room comes from a passage from the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, "The sun and the moon are long in a jar."

The rooms have few steps, making it easy to move between rooms.

They face the Kasuga Taisha Shrine Gardens, and you may even spot a deer when you open the shoji screens in the morning.
