It is said that Murasaki Shikibu conceived the idea of The Tale of Genji while gazing at the moon reflected on Lake Biwa from Ishiyama Temple. This room, themed after The Tale of Genji and the moon, is a simple suite with a Japanese-style room and a bedroom.
The room, formerly on the 3rd floor of the “Biwasuremi” area, has been renovated and opened on Thursday, September 5.
The room is equipped with three semi-double beds (120cm×200cm), and for groups of more than four, futons are provided in the Japanese-style room, allowing up to seven guests to stay.
The bathroom, previously a three-in-one unit (bath, sink, toilet), has been redesigned into a spacious area with separate sections for the bathtub and shower.
Multiple outlets have been added for smartphone charging, and USB ports (A, C type) are available at the bedside, allowing you to use your smartphone comfortably in bed. Simmons beds are used, and a TV has been installed on the ceiling of the bedroom so you can relax and watch TV as you sleep.
※Partial View: Although this room faces Lake Biwa on the 3rd floor, part of the view is obstructed by buildings.
※No open-air bath is available in the room.
