Breakfast — A Revitalizing Morning Feast from Aso

With a desire to share the passion and dedication of Aso's local producers, the third-generation president of Sozankyo personally worked with local producers to create our special “New Ryokan Breakfast.”

Enjoy a wholesome breakfast featuring the abundant blessings of Aso.

Examples of Breakfast Ingredients

Carefully raised Yamaton Farm SPF Pork, served with plenty of fresh Aso vegetables in a bamboo steamer and accompanied by our homemade paprika dressing for a healthy and flavorful dish.

Kimura Tofu, made with pure Aso spring water and Japanese soybeans. Served chilled in summer and warm in winter.

ASO MILK, an internationally recognized, award-winning premium milk.

Specialty leafy vegetables from Aso Kura Farm, which practices sustainable, community-based agriculture utilizing Aso’s natural resources.
Served with either dinner or breakfast.

Fresh eggs from Aso, laid within the past three days and served as soft-boiled eggs or Japanese rolled omelets.

Hitomebore rice grown in the Aso Highlands.

Naturally caffeine-free Aso Sugarcane Tea from Aso Herbal Garden.

There are also a variety of delicious side dishes, along with Yamamoto Coffee, reminiscent of a classic Japanese coffee shop, and a choice of three kinds of juice.

Hot Springs

Our proud natural hot spring is richly blessed by the bounty of the Aso landscape.

Rather than focusing on scenery or modern facilities, we invite you to enjoy a nostalgic Taisho- and Showa-era retro-style bathhouse, where you can relax in the hot spring throughout the night.

Rich in iron, our hot spring is a genuine 100% natural, free-flowing spring.

The hot spring source is located on our property. To preserve the natural quality of the water, the public bath was built close to the source and intentionally kept compact. As part of our long-standing tradition, we have chosen not to build an open-air bath.

This is a commitment that has been passed down through generations.

Two private baths are also available.

The baths are unavailable from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for cleaning.

A separate hot spring tax of ¥150 per person is required.
