Enjoy our “New Ryokan Breakfast,” created with a heartfelt desire to share the passion and dedication of Aso’s local producers with our guests.

The third-generation owner of Sozankyo personally worked with local producers to select and develop the finest ingredients for this special breakfast.

＜A Selection of Breakfast Ingredients＞

◎ Enjoy an abundance of carefully selected ingredients from Aso!

・SPF pork from Yamaton Farm, carefully raised with a focus on quality and safety, served with plenty of fresh Aso vegetables, steamed in a bamboo steamer and accompanied by our homemade paprika dressing

・Kimura Tofu, made with pure Aso spring water and domestically grown soybeans
　(Served chilled in summer and warm in winter)

・ASO MILK, a three-star milk recognized around the world

・Fresh leafy vegetables from Aso Kura Farm, produced through environmentally conscious, locally sustainable agriculture

・Fresh eggs from Aso, laid within three days, served as onsen eggs or rolled omelets

・“Hitomebore” rice grown in the Aso Highlands

・Caffeine-free Aso Tokibi Tea from Aso Herbal Garden

You can also enjoy a variety of delicious small dishes, as well as Yamamoto Coffee, known for its authentic café-style flavor, and three kinds of juice.

【Hot Springs】

Our signature hot spring is rich in the natural blessings of the Aso region.

Rather than focusing on elaborate facilities or scenic views, our bathhouse preserves a nostalgic Taisho- and Showa-era atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy the soothing waters throughout the night.

The mineral-rich spring water contains abundant iron and is a genuine free-flowing natural hot spring.

The source is located on the property itself. To preserve the natural quality of the spring water, the main bath was built close to the source, and the bathhouse was intentionally kept intimate in size. We have also chosen not to install an outdoor bath—an approach that has been carefully maintained by generations of the inn.

・Two private baths are also available.
・Unavailable from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM due to cleaning.
・A bathing tax of JPY 150 per person will be charged separately.
