At Takashimaya, dinner for parties of up to three guests is served in the privacy of your room.

Enjoy freshly prepared dishes in a quiet, intimate setting, without having to dine alongside other guests.

For parties of four or more, or when two or more rooms are booked, a private dining room will be provided. You can enjoy your meal in a comfortable, private setting.

 

Takashimaya Standard Plan

Takashimaya is a nationally registered tangible cultural property, renowned as a venue for the Kisei Championship, one of Japan’s eight major professional shogi title matches.

Housed in a traditional Edo-period village headman’s residence, our inn offers a timeless atmosphere where the pace of life seems to slow, allowing you to leave the bustle of everyday life behind.

Relax in our unique historic spaces, including the Kyūhin-no-Ma, where Emperor Meiji once took a rest, and our irori hearth in the lobby, which has welcomed guests for nearly 280 years.

We look forward to welcoming you with heartfelt cuisine and soothing hot spring waters.

Dinner — Exquisite Kaiseki Cuisine

Our kaiseki dinner showcases the artistry and refinement of traditional Japanese cuisine. Each day, we carefully select the finest locally sourced ingredients and prepare them with heartfelt attention to detail.

From bold, creative presentations to delicate and elegant arrangements, every dish is designed to delight both the palate and the eye. We make the most of Niigata’s seasonal bounty, including fresh seafood, locally grown vegetables, and renowned rice, to create an exceptional traditional Japanese dining experience.

The menu changes daily to reflect the best ingredients available each day.

Please note that the latest available dinner seating begins at 7:00 p.m.

Our complimentary shuttle service is available for guests staying in groups of 2 or more.

From Tsubamesanjo Station — 1 shuttle per day

Pick-up: 2:40 p.m.
Scheduled to coincide with the arrival of Toki No. 321 at 2:29 p.m.

★ Special Service ★ December 1 – February 28 only
Pick-up: 4:30 p.m.
Scheduled to coincide with the arrival of Toki No. 325 at 4:29 p.m.

Please wait for our shuttle at the Tsubame Exit, at the bottom of the stairs.
Advance reservation is required at least 3 days in advance.

Drop-off: 10:00 a.m. from the inn
Scheduled to connect with the 11:37 a.m. departure of Toki No. 318.

Shuttle service to Iwatsuro Station and Yahiko Station is also available between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Please note: Shuttle service to Yahiko is unavailable during November and the first three days of the New Year due to heavy congestion in the area.


■Iwamuro Onsen

Immerse yourself in the soothing waters of our baths, surrounded by the gentle fragrance of centuries-old Japanese cypress. As you relax, let the cares of everyday life quietly melt away.

Men’s Bath — “Okinoyu”
11:00 a.m.–midnight / 5:00–10:00 a.m.

Women’s Bath — “Chikubunoyu”
11:00 a.m.–midnight / 5:00–10:00 a.m.

Traditional Benefits:
Traditionally enjoyed for relief from neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, stiff shoulders, sensitivity to cold, and other ailments.

The hot springs are closed from midnight to 5:00 a.m. Morning bathing is available until 10:00 a.m.

An additional bathing tax of ¥150 per adult applies.

 

For Guests Booking the “Tachibana” Room

Children are not permitted to stay in this room.

Dinner: Served in your room for parties of up to 3 guests. For parties of 4 or more, dinner will be served in a private dining room.

Breakfast: Served at the restaurant.

This Japanese-style room features a private open-air bath with a traditional Shigaraki-yaki ceramic bath filled with natural hot spring water.

Enjoy views of the Japanese garden, beautifully illuminated at night, from the comfort of your private open-air bath.

Please note that this room does not have an indoor bath. A private shower booth is provided.
The open-air bath uses a circulating water system to maintain a comfortable water temperature.

Children are not permitted to stay in this room.

【Accessibility】
As our inn is a traditional Japanese ryokan with a historic design, there is no elevator or escalator, and guests will need to use stairs in several areas of the property. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
