【TSUNAGU - Entire House Rental】Japanese modern interior in a relocated old house with a Japanese garden.
Bedrooms: two Western-style rooms with two semi-double beds each and one tatami room with four futon sets.
Living/dining room, kitchen, two lavatories, Japanese garden and garden with cold water bath using groundwater.
The entrance is guarded by a grand temple gate acquired from a temple in Kyoto.
The 'TSUNAGU' is a traditional thatched-roof house that was originally built in another part of the Tsurugaoka area.
Traditional Japanese houses are constructed without nails, meaning all timber — columns, beams, and more — can be disassembled and reassembled intact.
Rebuilt to embody the spirit of connecting the wisdom, culture, history and way of life of this land's people, as well as linking the old building to the present and future, TSUNAGU Building shows those their minds.
Currently, only the thatched roof structure remains, having been replaced with a corrugated iron roof; however, we plan to restore the thatched roof in the future.
While preserving the original pillars, beams and antique fixtures, the building has been fitted with heating and cooling systems, including underfloor heating, to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay.
From the living room, you can enjoy views of the expansive Japanese garden with mountains as a backdrop.
Dinner:
Dinner is served at partner restaurants in the Tsurugaoka area, all of which are within a 5-minute drive.
Depending on restaurant availability, it may occasionally be served in your room. We will consult with you in advance.
During the New Year period, only a limited number of restaurants are open. Please leave the arrangements to our hotel staff.
Miyama boasts an abundance of seafood thanks to its proximity to Wakasa, as well as locally sourced vegetables, rice and mountain delicacies. We offer a variety of dishes featuring seasonal ingredients, including Japanese kaiseki cuisine, hot pot dishes, game meat dishes and sweetfish dishes.
Enjoy experiencing the local food, people and culture.
Please note that guests are responsible for your own transportation between your room and the restaurant.
However, we can provide pick-up and drop-off service for guests who have enjoyed alcoholic beverages. Please consult us in advance.
Meals for children of elementary school age and above will be the same as the adult menu.
If you would like a children's meal, the menu will be different.
Breakfast:
A 'slightly luxurious breakfast' prepared by renowned local Tsurugaoka establishments will be delivered to your room. New Year's features a special holiday menu.
Time: around 8:00 am (year-end only).
For New Year's, breakfast is prepared in the kitchen the previous day and can be enjoyed at your preferred time in the morning.

Front Reception :
As our hotel is a dispersed accommodation facility, check-in is handled at a community store Mura no Eki 'Tanasen'. However, during the New Year period, the store is closed. We will meet you outside the store and guide you to your accommodation building.
