Experience one of Setouchi's most magical natural phenomena with this exclusive seasonal accommodation plan.

Available only during the summer months, this unique night tour lets you witness the enchanting blue glow of sea fireflies (bioluminescent ostracods) up close. Their mesmerizing light creates a natural illumination unlike anything you'll experience elsewhere.

Guided by a local expert, you'll use special equipment to gently collect these tiny glowing creatures and observe their mysterious bioluminescence in the palm of your hand—a truly unforgettable encounter with nature.

The following morning, enjoy a relaxing breakfast at UNO HOTEL before unwinding at Setouchi Onsen Tamano-yu, located next to the hotel.

【Schedule (Approx.)】

  • 19:00 Meet at the hotel lobby and transfer to the beach by shuttle vehicle
  • 19:10 Arrive at the beach and begin the guided sea firefly experience
  • 20:50 Tour concludes, followed by shuttle transfer back to the hotel

Notes:

  • The tour may be modified or cancelled depending on weather and tide conditions.
  • The tour will be cancelled if a storm surge advisory is issued.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear that can get wet or dirty.
  • Reservations must be made at least 3 days prior to your stay.

One of the largest out-door baths offering the view of the Seto Inland Sea in Western Japan.

【Opening Hours】10:00-22:00 (Last admission 21:00)

【Closed】Every third Tuesday of the month

  • The ticket is non-refundable.
  • The ticket could let you access to the onsen without being charge for the admission fee and times limitation during the opening hours of the onsen within the duration of your stay.
  • The ticket is limited to use for the Onsen. Other services will be charged separately. (i.e. spa treatments, bedrock sauna, meals and drinks, etc)
  • ※For non-Japanese visitor who with tattoos is also welcomed to the Onsen by present either the passport or the residence card to Tamanoyu at the reception.
